A Divers Guide to the North East Coast from Peter Collings is a must for any local diver or diver who wants to visit and dive the North East. Covering an area from the Tees to the Tweed, this A4 sized book is crammed full of interesting and useful information on local shore dive sites. Combine this book with a visit to Easytide.ukho.gov.uk and a nice spell of weather and you can’t go wrong. You will also find a link to Peter's own web-page on our resources page.

The Silent World:
(National Geographic Adventure Classics)

by Jacques Cousteau

Jacques Yves Cousteau's books seem to stand the test of time. This book is no different.

Atlantis [DVD]:

directed by Luc Besson

A personal favourite of mine. From the director of Leon, Luc Besson combines fantastic underwater video footage with some great music and sounds. Makes for a very interesting 70 minutes. We’ve watched this over and over again. A fantastic gift to yourself, or for others.

Deep Blue [DVD]:

directed by Alastair Fothergill and Andy Byatt

Filmed by the BBC Natural History Unit this documentary features the oceans and its indigenous life from around two hundred different locations world-wide. Filmed at depths of up to five thousand meters using a submersible, this is from the crew that produced 'The Blue Planet' series.

The Blue Planet - Special Edition [DVD]:

narrated by David Attenborough

The Ultimate undersea DVD collection from the BBC. Combined with the Blue Planet book. A great reference tool for Divepics.co.uk. Another personal favourite of ours.

The Blue Planet [book]:

by Andrew Byatt, Alastair Fothergill and Martha Holmes

The perfect accompaniment to The Blue Planet DVD.

Red Sea Reef Guide

by Helmut Debelius

One of the most popular and sought after reef guides of the Red Sea. In our opinion you’ll almost always find a copy of this book in someones possession on a dive boat in the Red Sea.

Great British Marine Animals:

by Paul Naylor

Perfect for Identifying species seen on dives around the UK. I’m yet to find a better reference book for identification of U.K. fish and invertebrates than this. Displays good clear photos and excellent description of species. Both scientific and non-scientific names.

Pacific Explorations [DVD - Region 1]:

Odyssey [DVD - Region 1]:
